Your guide to your first ski holiday as a family part 3
How to get there
If you are all inclusive this may be sorted for you. Otherwise your options are flying or driving. If you fly you will need to organize an airport transfer. Our friends at the Cool Bus offer a relaxed ride in their brand new VW transporters. Prices are from €180pp return. For smaller groups their sister company Zeet offers zero emissions transfers in their Tesla!
Driving can be a good option for larger families, or those that like their personal space. We have found transporting 4 kids ranging from 1-13 far less stressful in the car. If you drive there’s also the option of staying somewhere overnight to break up the journey and make it fun for the little ones.
Where to hire ski kit?
This used to be the worst part of most family ski holidays. Trudging your tribe down to the shop, waiting in line and then carrying all the kit back to the chalet! Thankfully you can now get your kit delivered, fitted in your chalet and collected at the end of the week. And you get free tech support during the week!
You can book Rental Republic ski and boot packages online before you travel. Prices for 6 days skiing start from £73 for adults and £41 for kids. Added bonus is that you are charged in pounds so no hidden exchange rate costs.
Good luck with your ski holiday preparation. It’s definitely worth the effort – still the best family holiday out there in our opinion. We hope to get you kitted out for your first mountain experience soon!
